Performance and efficiency

Engineered for consistency and longevity

Applelec LED Light Sheet is engineered for consistent long term performance, combining high output with controlled thermal behaviour.

  • High efficacy LED performance

  • Stable light output and colour consistency over time

  • Patented thermal management supporting durability

  • Reduced maintenance requirements across the product lifespan

This ensures dependable performance across demanding architectural environments.

Designed to outperform conventional backlighting

Applelec LED Light Sheet is engineered around two patented advantages that set it apart from more conventional backlighting solutions. The first is its patented grid matrix, which draws light seamlessly across the panel surface to deliver smooth, even illumination. The second is its patented thermal management system, which disperses heat effectively, helping the panel remain cool to the touch, safer for use in tighter spaces and more reliable over time.

Together, these patented features allow LEDs to be embedded directly into the panel itself, removing the need for an additional frame structure often required by alternative systems. This results in a more integrated solution, reduced installation constraints and greater confidence in achieving the intended lighting outcome.

Why this matters for specification
This allows specifiers to select a backlighting solution that supports circular economy principles without compromising performance, while also providing a clear and independently verified route to meeting sustainability targets.

The TM66 2.7 specification is available as a defined variant and can be selected where project requirements demand verified circularity.

“This is a significant milestone for our team and for the industry. Our LED Light Sheet has long been trusted and specified by clients around the world for its quality and performance. Achieving a TM66 score of 2.7 reinforces that same level of excellence from a sustainability perspective. This version not only matches those expectations, it pushes the boundaries further, delivering exceptional energy efficiency while supporting the circular economy. We’re proud to be leading the way in responsible backlighting innovation.” David Mullaney – Head of Applelec Projects

Cutting edge LED solutions

Tuneable White LEDs
Tuneable White LEDs allow continuous adjustment of white colour temperature, available from 2200K–4100K or 2200K–6500K. This gives specifiers greater control over the mood, visual comfort and appearance of backlit surfaces, making it easier to respond to different applications within the same scheme.

RGB LEDs
RGB LEDs introduce bold, colour rich backlighting for projects where stronger visual impact is required. Ideal for feature applications, they allow designers to move beyond static white and create more expressive illuminated elements.

RGBW LEDs
RGBW LEDs provide a softer, more refined spectrum of colour, making them well suited to schemes where a more subtle decorative effect is preferred. The addition of white light helps deliver elegant pastel tones and a more controlled, sophisticated illuminated finish.

RGBWW LEDs
RGBWW LEDs combine static white, Tuneable White, RGB and RGBW within a single panel, offering maximum design flexibility from one integrated solution. This allows projects to shift between functional white light and decorative colour effects as required, while also supporting Pantone matching for applications where colour accuracy is critical.

Addressable LEDs

Addressable LEDs allow each diode to be programmed individually, enabling more advanced lighting effects across the panel surface. This makes it possible to create dynamic chases, flowing fades and layered colour sequences for projects requiring a more interactive or visually distinctive lighting scheme.

"The light installation featured a number of complexities not only for the design concept but also the size requirement. Having worked with Applelec and their Applelec LED Light Sheet before, we knew the light panel would deliver a flawless finish and be able to accommodate the ambitious and bespoke design."
