Designed and manufactured in the UK, each lightbox is built to suit the project, combining precision fabricated frames, stretch fabric diffusers and illumination powered by Applelec Light Engines.
Available in a range of configurations including recessed, surface, suspended and curved forms, lightboxes offer a flexible solution for both integrated lighting details and statement features, delivering a clean, uniform illuminated finish across every application.

Every Light Engine is manufactured with exact LED positioning, ensuring consistent illumination and eliminating uneven results — giving specifiers confidence in performance.
Faster installation
Pre-manufactured systems are supplied ready to fit, removing the need for on-site adjustment. This reduces installation times, minimises labour costs, and lowers the risk of error.
Premium illumination
Wide choice of colour temperatures available including high CRI options and highly energy efficients LEDs with tight colour consistency across panels. Light quality can be tuned to suit the surface material and application for a refined, professional finish.
UK manufactured to specification
Every Light Engine is built to your drawings and dimensions, ensuring a precise fit for each project. Manufactured in the UK with a focus on durability and serviceability, our systems are backed by a 5-year warranty for added confidence. Technical support is provided from design through to installation, and end-of-life responsibility can be supported through the Applelec Recycling Scheme where applicable components apply.
System design and flexibility
Bespoke lightboxes are designed around the needs of each project, offering a flexible system approach that allows designs to be developed and refined to suit requirements.
Architectural configurations include recessed lightboxes for full integration, surface or suspended systems for defined illuminated features, and curved lightboxes where geometry demands it.
Bespoke Lightboxes can also be developed as eco engineered solutions, combining recycled fabric skins and responsibly sourced backing materials to support circular design principles while maintaining the lighting performance and finish expected from Applelec Projects systems.
Available in a wide range of depths from as slim as 18mm through to deeper systems, including 30mm slimline options, to suit your application and installation requirements.

Performance and installation
Lightboxes are engineered to deliver uniform, reliable illumination across the entire surface, with no visible LED spotting or shadowing.
Illumination is powered by Applelec Light Engines, configured to suit the specific requirements of each project. This ensures consistent light output, efficient performance and alignment with the overall specification.
Designed for efficient installation, systems can be recessed, surface mounted or suspended depending on the application. Pre-manufactured components reduce on site adjustments and help maintain installation quality.
When to use lightboxes
Lightboxes are ideal when defined illuminated panels or features are required, where precise control of light output, consistency and finish is essential.
They are particularly suited to projects requiring modular or framed lighting elements, or where installation flexibility is needed across different areas of a scheme.
For large seamless illuminated ceilings across full spaces, stretch ceiling systems may be more appropriate.
